The first five minutes
You spawn next to a small green plot with a glass cube at its centre (your core starts at 100/100 HP — single-source community confirmation). On the right side of the HUD: the dice button and the Build button. The first beat is in the rolls.
- Tap the dice 3–5 times. Your first rolls unlock common-tier objects.
- Open Build Mode and place a wooden perimeter. The build panel has two tabs — Blocks (walls, traps) and Weapons (turrets). Drop a wooden wall in a ring around your cube, then a single Basic Cannon firing through the wall’s gap.
- Hit Start Wave. Placed turrets fire automatically. Click to swing a sword for supplementary damage.
- Spend first coin payout on Luck I (100 coins). This is the single highest-leverage early upgrade cited by every community guide.
- Queue Auto Roll (250 coins). With Auto Roll unlocked, dice resolve while you micro your base layout.
After five minutes your Skill Tree should be open and your cube core protected by at least one wall layer plus a Basic Cannon. If both are true, your save is on the critical path.
Skill Tree priority, in order
The community consensus (allthings.how and nerdschalk agree on every value below) is:
| Order | Node | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clover Chance I | 25 coins | +10% clovers per rank |
| 2 | Fast Rolls I | 15 dice | Faster rolling cadence |
| 3 | Luck I | 100 coins | Higher roll luck |
| 4 | Auto Roll | 250 coins | Rolls dice automatically |
| 5 | Fast Rolls II | 45 coins | +20% roll speed |
| 6 | Luck II | 800 coins | Further luck spike |
| 7 | Friend Luck I | 1,200 coins | Group / multiplayer luck bonus |
| 8 | Gold Rolls I | 3,300 coins | Gold-tier roll every 11 rolls |
The Luck I → Auto Roll → Luck II anchor is the uncontested core. Everything else slots around the three of them.
The free boost most guides forget
Joining the official Slungpy Games Roblox group (group ID 33723433) grants a permanent 2× Luck plus a free Sword melee weapon. The 2× Luck stacks with everything else on the Skill Tree, which makes it the single highest-value free boost in the game. Claim it in the first minute of play — the group-joined flag does not expire.
Common beginner mistakes
Five recurring errors — each carries a citation:
- Spreading coins across the Skill Tree without stacking Luck first. “Start with Luck I at 100 coins, then buy Fast Rolls, followed by Auto Roll and Luck II. Anything that doesn’t improve how good or how frequent your rolls are can wait.” (nerdschalk)
- Ignoring small slimes and shard drops during wave 1. “Small slimes drop shards — ignore them at your own risk.” (rouniverse) Skipping wave-1 shards delays your first Fortune Relic.
- Buying rare objects with no upgrade materials. “Avoid rare objects early — you lack materials to upgrade them.” (rouniverse) Rare drops without craft mats stall your roll economy.
- Logging off with a sloppy base layout. “Spend your last few active minutes each session tightening the base layout, not idling.” (earnaldo)
- Spending coins on base size before defending the core. “Save base size [upgrades] until your roll economy is running, because a bigger plot with weak objects still folds.” (nerdschalk)
Offline combat — the headline passive earning source
The Roblox description says it directly: “Your base fights offline!” Placed weapons continue to fire on incoming waves and your balance continues to accrue while you are logged out. This makes the layout quality at logout the deciding factor for progression between sessions.
The community-recorded run benchmarks (informally published, not developer-confirmed):
- ~6.1K coins by Wave 20
- ~7.2K coins by Wave 17
Those numbers are anecdotal — the precise offline income curve is undocumented. Treat them as lower-bound estimates only.
Where the coins should go
Park roughly 150,000 coins for the Crafting Machine unlock the moment your income can spare it. Don’t bleed the reserve on impulse Luck II / Auto Roll purchases. If you do, your Wave 20 boss timing slips by hours.
The Coin ETA calculator projects the timeline for your save with your player-entered rewards and active hours.
What to skip in your first session
- Base size expansions until you have Luck I + Auto Roll + Luck II.
- Gold Rolls I until your coin bank has cleared the 150K reserve.
- Cosmetic decoration objects — they carry a placement-slot cost with no defensive return.
- Boss-tier planning until the Crafting Machine is unlocked and the Wave-20 trial has been hit at least once.

Frequently asked questions
What should I upgrade first in Build a base RNG?
Luck I (100 coins) → Fast Rolls → Auto Roll (250 coins) → Luck II (800 coins). Skip base-size and cosmetic expansions until those four are purchased.
Does my base keep earning while I'm logged out?
Yes. The developer's official description says 'Your base fights offline!' — placed weapons fire and coins accrue while you are away.
When can I spend on rare tier rolls?
After Luck I and Auto Roll are unlocked, and only with Luck II if your coin bank is comfortably above zero. Spreading coins on rare rolls before rolls are speeding up is the most common beginner stall.
Is there a Codes menu I can use?
No — as of 2026-07-31 the developer has not shipped a code redemption menu. See the codes status article.
What is the offline combat reminder?
Every session should end on a tested layout. Offline income is the headline passive earning source; sloppy bases bleed coins slowly instead of growing.
How long does the 150K Crafting Machine unlock actually take?
Use the Coin ETA calculator to model it with your player-entered wave reward, Coin Boost cadence, and active hours per day. Most save files between Wave 17 and Wave 25 land between 6 and 30 hours of active play.
